Once I got started, I knew I couldn't stop. I am making a frenzy of cards. I remember now how much I love blogging and doing card challenges.  It is so much fun to make cards when half the thinking has been done by somebody else.  Wanted to get this set of cards done over the weekend, and I was successful because I had some inspiration to help me.  Thank you to all the design teams that are diligently making layouts, color choices, and their own wonderful cards to inspire all the little people out there who are having a creative block, or just like to play along.  My layout came from Sketch Frenzy Friday101714 .  Late Night Stamper's were looking for FALL themed cards.  This little card was pretty simple, using paper from Motley Monsters DSP for the focus of the card, but I had to flip the sketch a little so I could use my Hearts border punch.  What were they thinking when they made that punch to stamp from the top only?  I stamped a little greeting from a new set I

Feeling creative with Connie and Mary

Another inspiration from a challenge at Create with Connie and Mary today.  This card was another one I made for my friend, and I used a print paper from Color Me Autumn DSP that I was saving just to go with the Truly Grateful stamps.  I loved playing with the Crumb Cake base for each of my cards, to give it the little autumn touch of brown.  I grabbed my circle framelits to cut a circle for my card, and decided that the one size was too much coverage for the card as it would have gone from edge to edge, so I grabbed the next size down to use instead.  As I assembled my card I decided that this size was a little too small, and wish I had something in between these sizes.  Well, as I typed this today I thought "wait a minute!"  As I held the two sized circles together I remember thinking that there was a significant size difference between the two circles, and much too big a border to use it for backing the printed circle, so I hand cut the brown circle to back the print

Back for another challenge

I was inspired to do another challenge card yesterday, as I needed a little inspiration to get me going.  It was such a beautiful fall day, and the sun was shining, and I was happy just to stay curled up in my chair playing games on my tablet.  I'm bad that way.  It was just so nice to be alone by myself on a Saturday, as the grandkids keep me so busy during the week.  My husband had gone up to our trailer to winterize it, but came home today saying that he'll be going back next weekend, as the weather is supposed to continue to be nice.  I wanted to make up a pack of cards for a friend and I decided to use an autumn theme, as I had all this pretty paper from Motley Monsters DSP that I wanted to play around with.  I kept the card pretty clean and simple, and let the leaf print be my focal point.  I added a sentiment from Trust God stamps that I love.  Each one of us is God's special work of art is what autumn leaves speak to me.  I love it that you have a new, colorful

It's been a while

It's been a long time since I have blogged.  Funny how live gets so busy, and you don't even have time for the things you love.  I love playing in my craft room, but for health reasons I spent months without doing any crafting.  I recovered from my ailments, but I had so much going on in my life that I just could not find the time and energy to blog.  I kept promising myself I would do it, and now I am going to fulfill that promise to myself.  Last week I was looking for inspiration for a card swap that I was doing.  I knew the stamp set I wanted to use, but needed help with my layout.  I went to some of my favorite card challenges, looking at layouts, and past layouts for inspiration, and I came up with some fun ideas.  That was all I needed to get me started again.  I did the swap with an old layout, but this week I went back again and chose a layout from Freshly Made Sketches to inspire this card.  I needed some thank you cards to send, and had to make cards

Valentine Defined

Image
I have a Valentine stamp set that I don't think I will ever part with, because I think the images are just too cute.  I just have to be careful not to use it EVERY year to make my husband's Valentine.  This is the card that I made for him this year.  I used the Circle Card Thinlits Die for the base of the card, and added an additional flap of Kaleidoscope DSP.  The little XOXO and chevrons come with the Circle Card Thinlets and I used a die from Hearts a Flutter framelits for cutting hearts.  I used 2 3/8" scallop circle punch and a 1 3/4" circle punch for the central images.  I thought I would share this card with the folks at Crafty Boots Challenge where they are playing Bingo this week, and I chose to play diagonally with Pink, Stamp, Die Cut for my play.  The SU-Only Challenge #90 this week was to use punches for Punch Parade!, and they are included in this project.  The Pink Elephant Challenge 237  was for anything Valentines Day, and this meets that chal

Venetian Romance Scrapbook Pages

Image
We have a scrapbook class on Saturday, and I wanted to make something that had a romantic feel to it, but not just Valentines day.  I decided to use the Venetian Romance DSP, which adds a beautiful, soft look.  I did a little stamping with the Happy Day stamp set, but it's hard to see in my photo stamped in Pistachio Pudding.  Debby made a great Valentines Day layout filled with love, and lace, and lots of hearts and bling for our other 2 page layout.  Join us for our class on Saturday, Feb. 15 from 10:00 - 12:00.  We'd love to have you join us. Perfect Pennants for me and you

I have have been so busy this week playing with all my new products and created a lot of fun cards for my display for an upcoming craft event this weekend.  I am going to be attending a two day, stay up all night-or sleep overnight if you must, scrapbook and card making event.  I went for the first time last fall, and had such a great time, and am looking forward to going with my friend Debby for the whole weekend.  It's been years since we have done a craft get-away weekend.  I have been feeling better, and finally have some creative flow, and so I have so many things that I want to get made for display, but I also look for some inspiration from other stampers and from challenge blogs to get my ideas flowing.  I try to bring my own twist to it, and sometimes it works, and sometimes it doesn't.  I wanted to do something that was a little non-traditional, but also appropriate for Valentine's Day.  The Eastern Elegance DSP had the lacy look with a non traditional color

Another Great Year for birthday

Image
With another blizzard hitting Minnesota it's not fit to leave the house, which means it's a beautiful day in the crafting room.  It was bright and sunny, but it was terribly windy, and the snow we got overnight was blowing like crazy.  I packed up all the Christmas stamps and snowflakes, and put them away in favor of something bright and new.  I was excited about a new stamp set, Another Great Year, that I just received.  I thought it would be fun for making some birthday cards with a really big statement.  Pairing it up with the Birthday Basics DSP, some Crisp Cantalope and Bermuda Bay, made for a fun and funky birthday card.  I used a layout from  Pals Paper Arts Sketch Challenge 189 which called for some clever laying of the paper, that appealed to me today.  Hope you like it, and come back for a little more birthday fun tomorrow.  Mary Alice

Happy New Year 2014 Calendar

Image
Happy New Year 2014!    I know I'm a little late kicking off the celebration, but at least I have not given up on my resolution to get back to blogging again.  I made this cute little calendar a couple weeks ago, I just have not had time to share it with all of you.  I made the calendars to give to the members of a swap group that I participate in every month through the mail  This month I felt that I really owed them a little extra something nice, because I screwed up big time.  I had gone to New York City to visit my son for Thanksgiving, and I was determined to have my swap cards for December in the mail before I left.  I had started them, but the were not completed before I left, but that was no problem, because I would have a week to get them in the mail, when I got home.  However, on my last day in New York I came down with a very bad cold.  I came home and climbed in bed (after a miserable flight home), and I stayed in bed for days.  I finished up the swap cards

Baby, We've Grown and I'm back to tell you about it

Image
Happy New Year everyone!  I am back to blogging, and creating, and it's been a long time since I have been here and a lot has happened.  First of all, I have a new granddaughter, Maya Alice, as of last week, and she makes #5.  I am looking forward to visiting her tomorrow.  I saw her the day she was born for a little bit, and was supposed to be there to watch the delivery, but arrived about 8 minutes after she arrived, much to my disappointment, but I was there for the best part, and that was watching her look at her mother and dad with her big wondering eyes, and the joy in their eyes looking back at her.  Wonderful!  The card I am showing you today is one for I made a few weeks ago for a swap I participated in.  I used the new stamp set Baby, We've Grown, which was the first thing I picked out of the new SU Spring Occasions catalog.  The sweet little owl family just spoke to my heart.  It was the first time I used the Circle Thinlets die to make a card, and I did a
