Annual Home for the Holidays Boutique Today

Saturday, December 1, 2012
10:00 to 4:00
1926 18th St NW, New Brighton
This is a wonderful boutique with handmade items, along with a few vendors.  My sisters, and friends, have made so many lovely things for Christmas this year, and I am sure you will find something just right for that special someone on your holiday shopping list.  Be sure you stop by to shop, and to say Hello.
I made some more of the Mini CD albums for the sale, including a couple of recipe books and a child's birthday album.  They make great gifts.  Here is a new Christmas gift album with pockets for gift cards, too.  Stop on by.

Lovely Christmas CD Mini Album

We are having a class tomorrow night to make these adorable Mini Albums from CD covers.  I got this idea from one of our demo meetings, and I have been looking forward to this class more than any other.  We have been showing our album samples at our recent craft sales, and people have been nuts for them.
The album I made today is a special Christmas gift idea.  I adapted the idea for my album from one I saw on somebody's blog with pictures of family members, with a personal note from each member.   My twist on this is you can add photos of your family that the recipient will love, and have each family member pick out a gift card for that special recipient, and write down a reason why they chose the gift card.  Example would be a gift for grandma, and the first child buys a gift card for a yarn shop and writes "I chose this card for you, because I love the hats you knit for me, and I know you like knitting.  Another buys a card for a movie theatre and writes "I chose this card for you, because I love going to the movies with you".   And, each family member chooses a special gift card for grandma.
This would make a great gift for anybody that is hard to shop for.  Could me for a college student, teenager, dad, husband, or friend.  I can think of so many fun ideas for making this little album a very special gift.  If you have somebody special that you would like to make a gift album for, just let me know.  I'll squeeze you in last minute for the class :)  I can help you personalize it for anybody on your shopping list.
This also just makes a fun little brag book for that recent trip, dance recital, or treasured team photos.  You can add more pages, and expand the book up to about 15 pages.
The paper I used for the album is the Candlelight Christmas DSP, and then Real Red, Lucky Limeade, and Espresso Brown were used for making the inside pages, tags, and embellishments.  I used stamps from Evergreen, and More Merry Messages.  I will probably add more pages and stamped embellishments as I complete this special gift album for somebody I know.
Thanks for stopping by my blog, and leave me a comment telling me if you want to come for the class.
Have a great day.             Mary Alice

You still have time to join us for our CD Mini Album class, Wednesday Nov 28th! Cost is $10.00.
This little album would be a perfect gift for somebody on your gift list, or for yourself.  It makes a great brag book, or for pictures of that special party or activity.  You can also create a wonderful gift by tucking a few special gift cards in the pockets, for that hard to shop for person in your life.
We have several styles to choose from, and you can personalize it in many ways.

Saturday's Craft Sale

My friend, Debby, and I have been so busy crafting for sales every weekend that have been so much fun.  But, to tell you the truth, I'm just about crafted out!
Keeping up with the change of holidays is fun, but it's a lot of work.  That's what the crafter's life is all about I guess.  Making stuff for the holidays.  I have so many ideas, and so little time to get them done.  I try to turn out a project a day, but some of these things take 2 days.
I got behind when I got delayed coming home from my trip to New York.  Hurricane Sandy caused the airport to close, and our flight coming home was delayed 2 days.  That was 2 days I wished I was crafting.
I had a great time visiting with my son and family, but sitting around for days and no place to go, all I kept thinking was "I could be crafting".    Then, to make matters worse, Debby and I have both been hit with a stomach bug that knocked us down for a few days this week.  I'm so glad I am better for the weekend's sale, and Debby, too.
So, before I packed things up today, I decided to snap a few pix to share.

I have been making a bunch of fun little treats, and I thought I'd share a few that I'll have at today's sale.  The turkeys on a stick are my favorite.  I made little rosettes for the tails, and added a googly eyed face, and sandwiched a licorice stick in between.   The little candy dishes you've seen before, but I punched the edges this time and they look so cute, I thought I'd show you.  And, I picked up those pretty autumn colored M&M's and had to think of a project to suit them, so the gingerbread man and candy cane toppers were just the thing.    It sure was fun putting those together :(  Stuffing m&ms is not my thing!
I'm looking forward to a fun sale today.  This one is put on by the county's day care association, which Debby and I were active members of for many years.  We hope we have made some cute little treats for those day care providers to buy for their little kiddies.
Thanks for stopping by, and if you are in the area, stop by the sale at the Mounds View Community Center today.

Sizzix Texture Boutique Embossing Machine

Due to our partnership with Sizzix, we are pleased to be able to offer a test run of the Texture Boutique Embossing Machine in our North American markets. We have 4,000 available to be sold only while supplies last. If this product test goes well, we may offer the Texture Boutique again in the future.
The Texture Boutique works with Textured Impressions Embossing Folders to transform ordinary cardstock, paper, metallic foil, or vellum into an embossed, textured masterpiece. This machine embosses only; it does not die cut. Because this is a product test, the Texture Boutique is not branded with the Stampin' Up! logo. It comes in Sizzix packaging and is the same color and design that is sold in stores. We recommend you read the included instructions before using the Texture Boutique and that you pass the same recommendation on to customers who purchase it.
'Tis the season of giving, and the Texture Boutique makes a wonderful gift for anyone who wants to create their own elegant embossed art. To help you with your gift-giving needs, we're offering a special value bundle that saves you $5.90. If you prefer, you can also purchase the Texture Boutique alone. Looking for stocking stuffers?
