Oh, Baby Blankie

Image
When I saw this blanket for the inspiration on Inspired by....#62 , I just knew I had to make a card.  I loved the colors, and thought that it would make a great contemporary looking baby blanket for a little boy.  I decided to make a quilted looking card, with a baby theme.  I used my Ciao, Baby stamp set, and one from the Pretty Petites, along with the Petite Curly Label Punch to cut my quilt squares.  I had to dig into my retired stash of paper to come up with the gray and yellow papers that I used, but I have been saving them for just such a project. I made a second card, shown below,  with a slightly different twist, a little softer look.  I also used the layout from the Sketch Frenzy Friday Challenge , but flipped it on it's side.  It was such a cute layout, and really was fun to play with.  I like working with the squares.  Funny thing is that for our SU demonstrator meeting last month, I made my swap card using a card ma...

Curly Pretty Petites on Sycamore Street

Image
I wanted to share another card I made over the weekend, and I used a few of my favorite new products from the SaleABration promotion.  I have a favorite new toy, the Petite Curly Label punch.  It coordinates with the Pretty Petites Stamp set, which I used for this card.  I just love stamping and punching these little labels, and spreading the sweet little joyous messages all ove my cards.  The colorful polka dot print that backs them up is from the Sycamore Street DSP, which I am wild about.  This paper just screams "spring" to me.  I love the Island Indigo card, and popping all these layers together, and topping it off with a Tangerine Tango bow from the Sycamore Street Ribbon and Button Pack.  Love it!  Free buttons and bows!!  If you want to get your hands on these freebies, just let me know.  They are your with a qualifying purchase.  On the outside I used a greeting from Sweet Essentials,  and I als...

Valentines for my little sweeties

Image
I have been working on Valentines for my little grandkids today, and I think I came up with some pretty cute ideas for each of them.  I had fun playing with some of my new toys and stamps, and digging out some of my oldies that were perfect for each of the baby's personalities.  This first card is for Kol, who is 15 months old.  I used some of the stamps from Spring Sampler, and some from Ciao, Baby, and some from Pretty Petites.  I cut them with the Petite Curly Label Punch, which is my new favorite toy.  I just looooveee using it.  I dug in my stash to come up with some red glitter dot paper from Holly Berry Bouquet (retired) that was perfect for this project.  The "love you" greeting inside came from a retired set called Valentine Defined. I added a few rhinestones and a glitter heart to sparkle it up a little for my sweet baby boy.   I had to slip this one in the mail today, and it should be waiting for him when he gets back f...

Gee I think you're swell, Valentine

I decided that I really better get going if I am going to get my Valentines in the mail this week.  I worked on a couple in the past week or so, but not for anybody in particular.  Today I have one that I made for my hubby.  Just a little sweet and frilly, but that's what one expects from a love note, right?  I got the inspiration from Freshly Made Sketches #71 for my layout, and the Colour Q Challenge #174 was my color guide. I have been dieing to play with some of my new stamp sets, and in order to do this card, I had to assemble a lot of new stamps.  The cute little scalloped labels come from Ciao, Baby from the new SU Spring catalog, and Pretty Petites came from the SaleABration brochure (and it was free!).  I love playing with the Petite Curly Label Punch, also from SAB, and it was so much fun punching out little labels, that now I have a box full of them for future use.  I embossed the Espresso Brown background with the Vine Street...
