Halloween Happiness

Image
In my past I used to do a lot of sewing, making clothes for myself, my family, and décor for my home.  I sewed products for craft sales for many years, too, and eventually I went to work in an alteration shop. So, I guess you could say I have a professional background, as well as a passion for sewing and all that is used to create things.  Over the years, I started paper crafting with rubber stamps, and then scrapbooks, and creative home projects, and my passion turned from fabric to paper.  I have often said that paper crafting today has replaced fabric crafts of yesteryears.  For years women strolled through a fabric store, to look and be inspired by the fabric, often buying without knowing what they would create with the fabric.  I have the stash to prove that!  Sometimes the pattern or inspiration came first, then the hunt for the perfect fabric, and trim, and buttons, ribbon, or lace came next.  Now, we get the same creative satisfaction using paper for our creative inspira

It's all about the Candy

I have been busy preparing for my Open House tomorrow, making cards and projects with all the new products that I got from the Holiday Mini Catalog.  I know it's still August, and I dislike posting Halloween cards already, but I just have to share the cutest card I made.  This new stamp set called Halloween Hello has all these cute little images that I used on these stamps.  I bought it especially to use on candy treats I plan to make, but I just had to put together a card.  I have to admit that I saw a similar card made by Linda here .  I changed mine up a little bit to fit the challenge at CAS-Colours & Sketches Challenge  #39 this week.  I added a cute little banner with the greeting inside the card, too.  The printed stripe paper comes from Witches' Brew DSP.  We have lots of new cards and products to show off Wednesday night, along with some great MakeNTake projects.  Stop by and you are sure to have fun. More info is here .   Sign up for some fall classes while

Stampin' at the Campgrounds

Image
I enjoyed a lovely day of stamping at the campgrounds on Friday.  The weather was a perfect day to sit on the porch and get creative.  We had a smoky little fire going in the yard, and I could sit in my screen porch and watch the birds all around me and the deer passing right through the yard eating the hostas, but the bugs could not get me.  Haha!  I had a box of new stamps and paper to play with, and plenty of inspiration all around me, but I turned to a couple of challenges for inspriration, too.  I had my new stamp set called Truly Grateful, that I wanted to play with first.  The first thing that struck me about this set was the slice of wood.  I truly wanted to play with that.  So, I opened up my supplies and much to my amazement I had forgotten to pack ink pads!!!! Oh, no!  What to do?  I had just four pads in my box, that were still packed from last Wednesday night's class.  I had a box of markers, and that was the extent of my color range.  I stepped up to the chal
