It's Time for the Guys

Image
I wanted to show off another card that I made with Clockworks recently.  This was actually a card that I used for the shoebox swap we had earlier this month, and everyone really liked having a chance to try the new IN Colors that will be released in the Stampin' Up! 2013-14 Catalog on Friday.  I used Baked Brown Sugar, Crisp Cantalope, and Pistachio Pudding, along with a little Espresso Brown.  It was a real cool combination for a modern masculine card.  I just love playing around with color combinations and these are so fresh and exciting, I just know you will want to get your hands on them soon.  I got the idea for this card from Mary Brown, and you can see her original here . I am showing off this card at a new card challenge I found CAS on Sunday Challenge  #9, where this week they are looking for Make It Masculine Cards.  Sure hope they like it, and you like it, too. It would make a great card for Father's Day, or a graduation. M...

Time for a Father

We had a great card class on Wednesday night, and this is one of the cards that I made for the class. I am just loving the Clockworks stamp set, and think this is going to be a favorite of mine for a long while.  It makes a great Fathers day card, but I think it can be used for graduations, birthdays, or just a friendship type card.  I think that everyone in the class enjoyed making this card because of the carefree stamping, and there is simply no way to screw it up when you are just kind of free-styling with the stamping.  I know that it is kind of intimidating at first, because everyone has a tendency to try to copy the original card, but it's really all about just being random with the stamping.  Of course, I have to admit that I somewhat copied another card that I saw, but the only info I have is it was made by Tea Leaf (?). I think I will share this at The Paper Players Challenge #146 where they are looking for Masculine Cards this week.  Hope you...

Clocktime Celebration

Image
I had a little time during naptime today to get in the craft room and make a card.  I could not wait to get my new stamp set, Clockworks, inked up and ready to create.  I used the Layout from Stampin' Celebration and the colors from Create with Connie and Mary's Challenge to use Midnight Muse, Gumball Green, and Summer Starfruit.  I had to dig into my Be Of Good Cheer DSP to find the right green paper, and these polka dots are so manly looking. :D CAS-ual Friday is having a Birthday Bash so I will share my card there.  I came up with the time to do another card for them.  How come when you buy a new stamp set you never have the right size punches to go with it?  I have so many circle punches, but not quite the right size for all the circles in this set.  I should have known! Hope you have time to do some creating yourself today. Mary Alice

Time for New Clockworks

Image
With just a little time left to work on cards this week, I just had to do one more.  A new shipment arrived at my door today with a new stamp set, Clockworks.  I really thought this would be fun to use for making some masculine cards.  I really thought that it could be used for many occasions, but I realize now that I don't have any of the right salutations for the front of my card for those occasions.  I kept thinking of things like I'd use this for an anniversary, for a "long time friend", graduation or retirement.  I have no stamps for those occasions.  This is the time that I wish I had MDS, so I could print up some of the things like that.  Well, I can always print it on my computer, but that just does not seem right, when  you're stamping a card.  I played around with the colors from the Nacho Average Challenge #42 to use Midnight Muse, Old Olive, and Soft Suede.  Just right for this card.  I used the layout from the ...
