Heartfelt Sympathy in Blue

Image
It's always sad when you need a sympathy card, and you don't have one on hand.  On the other hand, creating a card with that personal touch that fits the person you are giving it to is nice, too.  I love the Floral Boutique DSP, and it was perfect pair with the Heartfelt Sympathy stamp set.  When I saw the layout from Mojo Monday Challenge 494 today I thought it was perfect for that large sentiment I wanted to use.  It made for an easy, fast and fun card. As I was making my card, I decided to add pink to my second card, because I had seen it as the color challenge from CAS-ual Fridays .  I don't know which I like better, the silver or the pink trimmed one?  Which is your favorite?     I loved using the Stitched Shapes Framelits for adding that little extra touch of interest to the simple shapes used in this card.  I just wish I had gotten the sentiment straight when I was lining up the oval.  I struggle with that every time I cut a sentiment with

Hello, Gorgeous!

Here's another sneak peek at new products from the New Stampin' Up! catalog that will be released in June.  This stamp set is called Happy Birthday Gorgeous, and it has these fun little roses, some balloons and wonderful salutations.  Did you notice I said balloons?  I used one of the balloon images for the vase on this card.  I used some of the new In Colors, Lemon Lime Twist, Berry Blast, and Tranquil Tide.  Do you recognize the prints on the patterned paper?  It looks like Floral Boutique, but they have taken some of the same prints and made Fresh Florals DSP in the new In Colors.  Perfect for this lovely, feminine card.  They layout for my card was inspired by In(k)spire Me Challenge #297 and I will also share this one on Seize the Birthday's Challenge to use 2 patterned papers.  I love playing along with card challenges, and I hope they like my cards.  I hope you do, too.  Come on back and see what else I've been making this week.  I have lots of new t

Happy Birthday Gorgeous in bright new In Colors sneak peek

I waited all weekend to craft with a friend today, and I was determined to get some crafting done, and not just talking.  I was dying to get my fingers inky with the NEW Stampin' Up! In Colors.  I have new stamps and paper and I was excited to stamp.  I went online to look for a little inspiration last night to see what others have been making with their new stamps, and I was surprised I couldn't find anything made with the Happy Birthday Gorgeous stamp set.  So I knew that was where I was to begin. So here is a sneak peek of things to come in the new catalog.   I bought this stamp set because I loved all the salutations in it, and so that's where I started with my idea.  I found a layout from Match This Sketch Challenge 173 that I liked and I made the fun sayings my focal point, stamped in Berry Burst, Fresh Fig, and Lemon Lime Twist.  I stamped the background with Lemon Lime Twist flowers on paper the same color to add some interest.  I had stamped the 3 balloons in

Fun Fold for a Perfect Mix

I couldn't help myself, I just had to make another card with Perfect Mix.  I just love anything that has to do with baking, and was having so much fun with these stamps.  As I was creating cards, my granddaughters were right at my elbow begging to make a card, too.  One wanted to color some bowls, so I stamped them on a card for her.  "Make 3" she says.  The other wanted to cut out mixers like I was doing.  They are quite the crafters. I must admit that I saw this card on Dawn Olchefske's blog here , and absolutely loved it and thought it would be perfect layout to use with these stamps.  Then I realized that I could use the colors from CAS Colours & Sketches Challenge #219 , but later realized that my card was not really "CAS" (clean and simple).  The Seize the Birthday Challenge calls for using TWO DIFFERENT PATTERNED PAPERS, so I'll play along with their challenge, too. What I love most about this card is the fun fold.  I liked that th

Perfect Mix for a birthday card

Image
I had some catching up to do this week with making some birthday cards.  So many to do this month, and I got the flu.  It's been hard to get into the craft room and play when I feel wiped out most of the time.  This week I am starting to feel more like creating, and with 3 birthdays creeping up this week I had to get busy.  As usual, I look for inspiration in the challenge blogs, and I was totally inspired when I saw the colors from Just Us Girls Color Week #389.   Who couldn't make up a birthday card with these fun colors.  Seize the Birthday Challenge was to USE TWO PATTERNED PAPERS, and the layout at Stamp Ink Paper Challenge #95 was perfect for that idea.  I couldn't wait to play with a stamp set that I won at our demonstrator meeting, and had not had the chance to play with yet, Perfect Mix.  It was fun choosing which of the elements I would use.  The bowl and mixer are my favorite, and making a cake is top priority, so they made a wonderful birthday card.
