Happy Halloween

HAPPY HALLOWEEN EVERYBODY!   I spent the day in my craft room working on swap cards.  I have so many to do this week, and they all seem to have creeped up on me.  This is a card that I made for my swap in October, and I thought I'd share today.  Made with the Happy Scenes stamp set and a lot of fun playing with colors and mediums.  I sponged the background, colored the pumpkins and leaves, and trimmed it with fun lacey curtains and spiderwebs.  I felt like a little schoolgirl creating a work of art in school.  I think Halloween is a time that makes all of us feel like a child, and I hope you had some fun like a kid today, too.  For me, it was carving pumpkins, too.  Hope to share more fun with you soon, so stop back again.   Mary Alice

I recently made this card for a swap that I am participating in, and I could not be more tickled.  I had such a fun time creating this, but decided that coloring is really not my thing anymore.  My hands have gotten so shaky that's it's hard to stay in the lines.  My little granddaughter never criticizes my coloring when I am doing it with her, but I felt a little bad passing off these cards to friends!  I hope they just looked at the delightful, colorful design, and overlooked the poor coloring.  I know I will have a bunch of fun with this new Halloween Hello stamp set, and can't wait to share more projects with all of you, too.  The paper is Witches Brew DSP.  I think I will share this one with the Crafty Boots Challenge where they are looking for Sweet Treats.  The colors are perfect for the Nacho Average Challenge #58 , and the Paper Players Challenge #166 Trick or Treat wants a Halloween card.  Hope they like this one...

Halloween Happiness

In my past I used to do a lot of sewing, making clothes for myself, my family, and dĂ©cor for my home.  I sewed products for craft sales for many years, too, and eventually I went to work in an alteration shop. So, I guess you could say I have a professional background, as well as a passion for sewing and all that is used to create things.  Over the years, I started paper crafting with rubber stamps, and then scrapbooks, and creative home projects, and my passion turned from fabric to paper.  I have often said that paper crafting today has replaced fabric crafts of yesteryears.  For years women strolled through a fabric store, to look and be inspired by the fabric, often buying without knowing what they would create with the fabric.  I have the stash to prove that!  Sometimes the pattern or inspiration came first, then the hunt for the perfect fabric, and trim, and buttons, ribbon, or lace came next.  Now, we get the same creative satisfacti...

It's all about the Candy

I have been busy preparing for my Open House tomorrow, making cards and projects with all the new products that I got from the Holiday Mini Catalog.  I know it's still August, and I dislike posting Halloween cards already, but I just have to share the cutest card I made.  This new stamp set called Halloween Hello has all these cute little images that I used on these stamps.  I bought it especially to use on candy treats I plan to make, but I just had to put together a card.  I have to admit that I saw a similar card made by Linda here .  I changed mine up a little bit to fit the challenge at CAS-Colours & Sketches Challenge  #39 this week.  I added a cute little banner with the greeting inside the card, too.  The printed stripe paper comes from Witches' Brew DSP.  We have lots of new cards and products to show off Wednesday night, along with some great MakeNTake projects.  Stop by and you are sure to have fun. More info i...
