Baroque Beauty

I  I love the way this card turned out, and everyone's ooo's and aaah's when they see it.  It really is a beauty.  I think I will have some fun with these stamps.  I bought them for scrapbook pages, but I love the cards, too.  The big image is a stamp called Beautiful Baroque and the sentiments and images inside came from Happy Day.  Makes a lovely card for a wedding or anniversary done in the Soft Slate colors, and I love the Chevron Striped Ribbon and the rhinestone accents.  I could have blinged this out a bunch more, but the card has plenty of shine.  Hope it us enough for the Paper Players Challenge 1 56 to "Bring on the Bling", and the CAS-ual Friday Challenge 106 is "Over the Edge", and the ribbon over the edge of the card satisfies that challenge.  Hope you like the card, and stop back again soon. And, HI to all the fun new friends we made at Marketfest in White Bear Lake last night.  It was a gorgeous evening, an...

For the Mr and Mrs

I did not want to put off making a wedding card at the last minute this week, which is usually my nature.  The wedding that I am going to for my niece, Elizabeth, and her handsome, Patrick is a black and white affair, with a touch of red.  They asked all the guest to come in black and white attire, and I know that the bride will be wearing red shoes, and a red flower in her hair, and I think the groom will have a red tie, otherwise everything will be black and white.  I started out to make a black and white card, but it turned into a red and white card with a touch of black.  I know Liz will like that. It's hard to come up with black and white paper in my stash, because I am all about the colors.  In fact, I had to dive back into Candlelight Christmas to find some red and white for this card.  I used hearts from More Amore, and the stamps are from Sweet Essentials, Petite Pairs, and Tiny Tags.  It doesn't have a lot of stamping, but ...

Stippled Blossoms Challenge Card, I mean Really a Challenge!

I have been working on cards for an upcoming craft sale, and today I was making some wedding cards.  I was looking for something other than the white on white variety of wedding cards.  My nephew recently married at Como Park Conservatory, and he wore shorts and a white shirt, and she was in a white summer dress with a bright colored bouquet.  A fancy schmancy wedding card would just not fit the bill for that wedding.  I decided to make a bright floral card, and I was inspired by the color challenge at Hand Stamped Sentiments to use Daffodil Delight, Tempting Turquoise, Certainly Celery and Not Quite Navy, and this is the card I made.  I also chose the layout from another challenge at  Monday Lunchtime Sketch Challenge at Techno Stamper .    This is the first time I pulled out my new stamp set Stippled Blossoms, and I found it a bit of a challenge.  I have a hard time with 2 step stamping, and I am always tempted to pull out the o...
