Fun Fold for a Perfect Mix

Image
I couldn't help myself, I just had to make another card with Perfect Mix.  I just love anything that has to do with baking, and was having so much fun with these stamps.  As I was creating cards, my granddaughters were right at my elbow begging to make a card, too.  One wanted to color some bowls, so I stamped them on a card for her.  "Make 3" she says.  The other wanted to cut out mixers like I was doing.  They are quite the crafters. I must admit that I saw this card on Dawn Olchefske's blog here , and absolutely loved it and thought it would be perfect layout to use with these stamps.  Then I realized that I could use the colors from CAS Colours & Sketches Challenge #219 , but later realized that my card was not really "CAS" (clean and simple).  The Seize the Birthday Challenge calls for using TWO DIFFERENT PATTERNED PAPERS, so I'll play along with their challenge, too. What I love most about this card is the fun ...

Easy Event for Baby

I made up some baby cards this week, and I felt like doing something new, so I decided to do a fancy fold card.  Lo, and behold, there was a challenge that was right up my alley.  The Friday Mashup challenge 104  was looking for umbrellas, and a double z-fold card.  I had not made one of these cards before, so it took a little experimenting, but I finally came up with the right formula.  I came up with the colors from a new challenge I found called Runway Inspired Challenge #33 .  I loved the pop of yellow on the pastel background.  I knew immediately what I wanted to use.    I decided to do something else I had not done in a long time, and that was to stamp on printed paper, and cut it and layer it over the stamped image.  I used polka dots for the duck and the umbrella and chose a heart background from More Amore DSP, which I thought was sweet for a baby card.  It turned out so cute that I...

Just Because I love making cards

I made this card for our demonstrator's swap earlier this month, but I changed it up a little adding the sentiment from a new stamp set called Vintage Verses, which is available from the SaleABration promotion.  This is just one of the many stamp sets, as well as paper and accessories that are available.  During the sale you get one free item for every $50 spent.  Check out the brochure on my sidebar, as well as the new Spring Catalog, and let me know if you would like to place an order.  I also used the Hearts A Flutter framelits to punch the little banners used on the card.  The paper is More Amoire DSP, and both are available in the new spring catalog. Then I embossed the Baha Breeze panel with the Fancy Fan EF.  I love playing along with the challenges, so for this card think I will show it off over at Just Add Ink Challenge where they are promoting the use of the Big Shot this week with a wonderful blog hop.  I got so much inspiration from...

Oh what a beautiful morning, Oh what a beautiful day!

MMMIIIINNNNNesota where the wind is blowing through your hair! And the air is sweet........... Okay, I don't remember the rest of the lyrics.  (Thank God.) I promised you something corny today, and here it is.  Remember I was telling about creating things with the Perfectly Preserved stamps and Framelits, and the Orchard Harvest Paper.  This was another one of my brainstorms.  I had this idea to make a scarecrow out of the Framelits.  I cut his shirt from the jar, then the arms from the corn, and stamped the corn hand.  His head is the fabric lid for the jar cut from Crumb Cake, and tied with hemp twine.  The hat was made from the apple as the crown and a small oval punched the brim.    I cut a flower for the brim and added a face, and my scarecrow came to life.  (I am a big Wizard of Oz fan, so I have a vivid imagination.)  It was my vivid imagination that made me come up with the idea.  ...
