Blooming in Comfort

Image
I am back again with another card from Blooming with Kindness stamps.  I just had to make another one of the bold blossoms.  I combined it with some Comfort Café DSP, and used Cherry Cobbler for the blossom, and came out with a card that reminds me of my kitchen back in the 70's.  This time I kept the birthday greetings inside the card, because I thought I had a bit much going on for the front of the card.  I had seen the layout for the challenge at Friday Mashup , and they called for a birthday card for the "mashup", and I think this hits both.  It was a simple card to do, but makes a bold statement.  Hope you all like it. Show a little Kindness

I love this stamp set Blooming with Kindness, and I just have not had the opportunity to play with it much.  I have all kinds of ideas, but never seem to get around to making them.  I wanted to make a card for somebody that needs a little hope in their life, and today just seemed like that kind of day.  After the bombing in Boston yesterday, I really seemed to dwell on the fact that what was supposed to be an exciting, fun, joyful day for so many people in Boston to run the marathon, or to cheer on the runners, and it took such a terrible turn.  It is so sad, and my heart goes out to all of the people in Boston, and those who were there for vacations that took such a sad turn.    So, my card today is a card of Hope.  One with bright spring colors to cheer somebody up.  It's peaceful, yet vibrant, and it made me feel good just to make it.  I used the beautiful color palette suggested by the Play Date Cafe's inspirational photos...

Blooming Birthday Wishes

Our Creative Corner I had the time to play around a little bit with my Blooming with Kindness stamp set, and decided to make a birthday card for the Late Night Stamper's Challenge .  I just love the sentiments with this stamp set, especially this one with "Warmest Wishes on your birthday".  It't just a little bit different from anything else I own. I added a couple little accents from Collage Curios.  I started to assemble my card, and stepped away for a couple hours.  When I came back, I just kind of put it together in a way that I liked, and then remembered I was going to cut the left side with a different scallop, to more resemble the sketch I was following for the layout challenge at Our Creative Corner .  Not what I was expecting to do, but close enough.  I guess that is how inspiration kind of takes it's own path, and each of us interpret things differently.   Maybe I will have to try this layout again, but for now, it's just o...

Blooming with Kindness and Love

second card  I was itching to get my fingers inky today, and there was a stamp set I was just itching to try, Blooming with Kindness.  I have only had a chance to use it once before, and I have had it for quite some time.   I had seen a beautiful card that inspired me to use two colors for the blossom, stamped on top of each other.  I played around a little bit with a variety of colors from some color challenges, and this was by far my favorite.  The Color Throwdown #229 called for Blushing Bride (I used Pretty In Pink), Chocolate Chip, White, and Old Olive.  I stamped the pink, and then the chocolate, after I stamped it off once to soften the color.  On the second card, I stamped the chocolate off twice to soften it more.  Liked the first one better.  I cut the blossom in a circle, and then cut another smaller circle to mask the edges, then I sponged the edges with Old Olive.  On the first card I deepened the green color...
