Pinwheels for spring

Image
I'm thinking spring today, and snow is reported for tomorrow.  I can't wait for March to come, because then it's that much closer to spring.  I just had to get my little Pinwheel sizzlet die out along with the Cloudy Days EF, when I saw that Less is More Challenge 107 was looking for " up in the air " this week.  This is the closest I will get to up in the air when the wind is blowing like a blizzard here in Minnesota.  Maybe with enough pinwheels, we could blow this snow away.  I thought it would make a nice birthday card for March, when we start imagining spring coming.  The Late Night Stampers Challenge  #211 is looking for birthday cards this week.  I got the color inspiration from The Fab Friday color challenge  12 to use Baja Breeze, Perfect Plum, and Wild Wasabi,  and the layout came from the Stampin Celebrations new February mid-monthspiration sketch challenge .  All wrapped up in one little spring card....

Pinwheels on Sycamore Street

This is one of the cards I made for our upcoming Card Club Class.  We were looking for some ideas that were kind of seasonal, and yet we are not ready for Easter cards.  I decided that we should do somethings that were springlike and playful.  The new Pinwheel Sizzlet die was the first thing I thought of and the wonderful new paper Sycamore Street DSP from SaleABration promotion were just what I needed for this card.  I love the playful bright colors, and the Tangerine Tango really sets off the print in the paper.  The pinwheel is really cute with the reverse stripe peeking through. I used the Cloudy Day EF for the background. Outside I used a greeting from Friendly Phrases.  Inside I used a salutaion from a new set Stacks of Wishes, which is available only to hostesses in the SU Spring catalog.  If you like the card, come join us on Saturday and make one for yourself.  My inspriation came from a couple challenges to use Sale...

Love is in the air!

Love is in the air today!  I had to whip out one more Valentine card for my special little chipmunk, Emily.  She is my oldest granddaughter at 8 years. She loves to create in the craftroom when she comes to grandma's house.  There is always somebody that she wants to make a card or gift for.  You have never met a child with a bigger heart and loving spirit.  I love spending time crafting with her, and I know she goes for the bright colors, and lots of pink.  I did not expect to see her until tomorrow, so I did not have a card ready.  I am so bad at waiting til the last minute, but I do my best work under pressure.  Ask my family! I pulled out some old paper with the bright colors she likes, and went to work with a couple of new products I had not used.  The pinwheel Sizzlet and the Clouds EF.  I added a couple of sparkle hearts to jazz it up a little and a greeting of LOVE.  LOVE is the theme for several of the chall...
