Spring is blossoming all over the place

I stood looking out my kitchen windows this morning, and the sun was finally shining bright, and my lilac bushes are blooming which is the highlight of spring for me.  I could see the trees finally starting to fill in, and the bright spring green color is intense all around.  I can see the white blossoms on the apple trees and the pink blossoms on the crab apple trees, and it just about takes your breath away because the view is never prettier out my kitchen window.  I have been taking my sweet little granddaughter out on the deck to feel the new leaves as they have been forming on the lilac bushes and the trees.  She laughs as I stick my nose in the blossoms and try to get her to smell the flowers.  I can hardly wait to spend the weekend with her exploring the woods surrounding our campgrounds where we are heading for the weekend.  For my card I used Lovely as a Tree, Bright Blossoms, and A Round Array stamp sets.  This card is not one o...

This may be a first for me, I used just one color for my card, Midnight Muse.  Does it count if I used Very Vanilla for the card, and Whisper White for the stamped area, because they are my neutrals?  The SUO Challenge 68 was to "stick to one color", and for me that was a challenge.  I do think the simplicity of the Lovely as a Tree stamp set is the simple images, but I always want to elaborate with a colored sky or ground, or something.  I used a new stamp set called Amazing Family for the greeting inside and out.   I really LOVE how this turned out, and I cannot wait to make some more.  I really hope to add another card to the challenge with a one color theme.  Stop back later, and see if I can do it.  It's kind of like a Lay's potato chip, nobody can eat just one.  I don't know if I can stick to one color again.  Mary Alice

Lovely as a Tree, but not for me!

It is not lovely here in Minnesota today.  It has been sleet, wind and rain all day.  And, I had a day of shopping to do, so I was puddle jumping and wearing a big hat to keep my head dry.  It was not lovely.  I decided that I had to shop today for some shoes for a wedding that I am going to attend next Saturday.  I had bought a cute pair of patent leather sandals (with just 2 straps), and I don't think it's going to be sandal weather here in Minnesota next weekend.  So, I went looking for a new pair of heels, something fun, not sensible (I wore sensible shoes for work for so many years, and now I am retired, and I want FUN shoes).  First store I went to I found cute coral sandals.  My 2 dresses I bought for the 2 wedding events both have little accents of coral, and these would be darling, but make no better sense than the black sandals.  But, I would wear these a lot this summer with other things.  Went to another store (Marshall...
