I waited all weekend to craft with a friend today, and I was determined to get some crafting done, and not just talking. I was dying to get my fingers inky with the NEW Stampin' Up! In Colors. I have new stamps and paper and I was excited to stamp. I went online to look for a little inspiration last night to see what others have been making with their new stamps, and I was surprised I couldn't find anything made with the Happy Birthday Gorgeous stamp set. So I knew that was where I was to begin. So here is a sneak peek of things to come in the new catalog. I bought this stamp set because I loved all the salutations in it, and so that's where I started with my idea.
I found a layout from Match This Sketch Challenge 173 that I liked and I made the fun sayings my focal point, stamped in Berry Burst, Fresh Fig, and Lemon Lime Twist. I stamped the background with Lemon Lime Twist flowers on paper the same color to add some interest. I had stamped the 3 balloons in my coordinating colors, but the green on green paper just would not do, so I punched one balloon from silver glitter paper, and that was just the pop it needed. (no pun intended). I used the glitter paper for a stripe behind the greeting to tie it together.
Added a festive greeting inside the card with a couple more balloons, and I had a fast and fun birthday card.
All that glitter reminded me of a couple other challenges I had seen. Global Design Project's Theme is Sparkles/Bling, so I'll play with their challenge, and then Just Add Ink #356 challenge was to Just Choose Two from Metallics, Circles, Balloons. I did that! I hope they like my card. I hope you did, too. I'm working on another one with this stamp set I'll show you later this week. You're going to love it.Mary Alice
