Sweet and Flirty Birthday Card

We are having beautiful spring like weather here in Minnesota this weekend.  We hit an all time record on Friday with the temp reaching 65.  I was lucky enough to get out and enjoy the afternoon having lunch with my sisters.  I stopped by the craft store to pick up a couple things and couldn't wait to get home to play in my craft room.  I just yearned to make some spring themed cards, so I reached for some flowers and gingham.  The stamps are called Avant Garden, and they are free during SaleABration with a qualifying purchase.  Quick, fun and easy is what I call this card.  Except for a little masking on the flowers, the stamping is fun and easy.  My little tip, if you like to do masking, is to stamp your image on a post-it note paper and cut it out, then I save that image in the stamp case and reuse it. I backed the flowers with a little gingham print from Succulent Garden DSP.
I was looking for a little challenge for my card, so I used beautiful color combination from As You See It Challenge #143 to use Dapper Denim, Sweet Sugarplum, and Flirty Flamingo.  It went felt a little daring to use denim for my greenery, but I like the way it turned out.
I found a simple layout perfect for my card from the Stampin Girls Gone Wild Weekend Card ChallengeHandstamped Sentiments Challenge 257 is all about spring and flowers and bright colors, and that's what I was trying to accomplish with my card too.  I'll share this card with SU-Only Challenge #148, where they are looking for ways to use SaleABration products, and the stamp set came from there. I love to play along with the card challenges, and I think I'm on a roll, so come back again tomorrow to see another fast and fun card I am making.

    1. I loved the colors, too, but was stumped how I could use it? Found the gingham paper, and that was the beginning for me. I have posted the photo elsewhere and gotten comments about the wild color choices.

  2. I love your wild dapper denim 'greenery'! I think the stamped off flower in behind the sentiment helps draw the whole design together. It was a good stamp set to use with this quite intimidating colour challenge. Thanks so much for being brave enough to join us at As You See It!
