A sweet birthday card

I like to hoard designer paper card stock, and then when it retires i panic and try to use as much as I can before the new catalog is released and new paper is available.  Sound familiar?  i love the Fruit Stand DSP, and I thought this was perfect for a spring birthday card. With so many things retiring, I have to keep checking my list to see if what I am using is current or still available.  This one is a real mix.

I had a couple challenges I wanted to play along with this week, and butterflies seemed to be the theme with a couple.  Fusion had a wonderful butterfly image over a colorful background, but I didn't have the time to play around with watercolors, so I chose a paper that reminded me of water-colored images.  I decided that I would pull the water-colored look into my butterfly with a bit of sponging, and then I added a little Wink of Stella for some sparkle. It never quite shows up in my photograph.  Curtain Call Challenge was calling for Flutter.  No problem, I've got my butterfly.  The layout at Match this Sketch was perfect using a doily to complete the layers.  A birthday greeting from Birthday Banners was perfect for this card, but I wish I'd had a mother's day greeting that fit it two.  I always make 2 cards when I am creating.  Why not?  I might make the second one for a mom.  Inside a used a greeting from Suite Sentiments, that played along with my peach paper.  You know that I send a lot of birthday cards, so I love to play along with Seize the Birthday, and this week Anything Goes!

I hope you enjoyed today's card, and come back to see what I was working on this weekend.  I had a very creative weekend.
