Perfect Mix for a birthday card

I had some catching up to do this week with making some birthday cards.  So many to do this month, and I got the flu.  It's been hard to get into the craft room and play when I feel wiped out most of the time.  This week I am starting to feel more like creating, and with 3 birthdays creeping up this week I had to get busy.
As usual, I look for inspiration in the challenge blogs, and I was totally inspired when I saw the colors from Just Us Girls Color Week #389.  Who couldn't make up a birthday card with these fun colors.  Seize the Birthday Challenge was to USE TWO PATTERNED PAPERS, and the layout at Stamp Ink Paper Challenge #95 was perfect for that idea.
I couldn't wait to play with a stamp set that I won at our demonstrator meeting, and had not had the chance to play with yet, Perfect Mix.  It was fun choosing which of the elements I would use.  The bowl and mixer are my favorite, and making a cake is top priority, so they made a wonderful birthday card.  When I couldn't come up with a birthday cake for the inside that wasn't from a retired stamp set, I decided to make my own from scraps of the paper used from Playful Palette DSP.  It worked for me!  I sure hope my friend likes the card, and you, too.

  1. Well, I just have to say that I LOVE this card. This was my LEAST FAVORITE DSP in the catalog and you just made it look WONDERFUL!!! So wonderful, I might just have to CASE this card! Those swirls look just like cake batter mixing up to me and your combination of inside sentiments is wonderful! AND you used the SIP sketch! Woohoo! Love it to pieces!

    1. Thanks, LeAnne. I thought the paper looked like batter swirling too! It went together so fast and fun.
I had the granddaughters watching my every move, and begging for me to make lunch. Maya asked me to stamp bowls for her to color, and Olivia wanted to cut out mixers. They just wanted to make this card, too.
