April Showers

April is probably my favorite month of the year, probably because I like seeing the snow melt and everything start to turn green.  I saw this card made by Sue Root a couple months ago, and just knew I had to CASE it.  I even ordered a spool of the Gumball Green satin stitched ribbon so that I would have enough to make a bunch for my demonstrator swap this month.  Our swap theme was to use a favorite technique, which was to use negative space, for me.  I punched the holes on the Midnight Muse piece, and stamped the white background.  I used Basic Grey for the scalloped edge and the cloud, but the photo turned out looking brown.

I was so tickled when I found a couple of challenges that my card would work for.  The funniest one was that the Little Red Wagon Challenge #179 was to "Be a negative Nellie", and that was my whole purpose in doing this card.  At SUO Challenge #67 they were looking for "spring is in the air", my theme, too.   Less is More Challenge was looking for "scallops", and I used them, too.  I guess this card meets all those qualifications.  Hope you like it, too.
I hope you had a nice Easter weekend, and I had a nice time, too.  I wanted to share my photos  that I thought showed the spring is in the air theme.
My little nieces and nephews enjoyed a brisk buy sunny day playing in the yard on my sister's farm.  They managed to keep their clothes fairly clean, but their shoes were muddy messes.  We let them fly a kite with instructions to stay out of the mud, so the headed to the low part of the yard, the garden, to fly the kite.  The muddiest part of the yard.  The Easter bunny was able to hide eggs in the yard, as the snow had melted around the house.  Two days earlier everything was covered in deep snow.  Thank God for the sunshine, and soon we will have ward weather, too.

I have to get back to working on cards for the craft sale this weekend.  Stop back and I will show you more tomorrow.
