Domestic Goddess needs a shower

I have been busy preparing for a bridal shower that I am hosting on Friday evening.  I have been so busy doing housework, some really deep spring cleaning.  I even washed all the china and crystal and polished the silver, and cleaned the diningroom cabinets inside and out.  I rearranged all the serving pieces, which is something I have wanted to do since I bought my new buffet 4 years ago.  I finally have all the cabinets in order, and so now I can spend the last day baking and decorating.During naptime today, I slipped into the craft room to tidy up after all my shower projects, and decided I would make a shower card for the bride, before cleaning up.  I wanted to use some of the dresses that I had cut with the All Dressed Up die.  For this card I used an idea from a previous shower card that I made using the Domestic Goddess DSP (retired). I love all the appliances, and the retro look.  I made a little housedress (like my grandmother wore), and a fresh apron (that I am sure was starched, and kept special for entertaining).  I added a couple potholders, and a message of love from the Petite Pairs stamp set.  I know that Lizzie will love this, because she is a real Domestic Goddess.
I used the layout from the Try Stampin' On Tuesday challenge #109 to keep me on my toes, and when I got all done and posted the photo, I realized that I had forgotten to put on the ribbon, so I went back, finished the card, and photographed it again.  (Nothing like make a simple challenge more of a challenge!).
My little granddaughter woke up just as I finished up the card, and I wanted to get a photo ready to blog.  To keep her quiet, I looked for something to feed her and found a little chocolate bunny that I had purchased when buying candy for the party, that I was hoping would be in a basket in a couple of weeks.  With camera ready, this was just too cute a photo opportunity to pass up.  I gave her the chocolate rabbit, just as her Uncle came in the room.  He showed her how to bite the ears, which she hesitated to do.  I never give her chocolate, so I don't know if she's had it before.  She was really pleased when she finally ate some.  Uncle asked her for a bite, and she immediately put it to her mouth, thinking that she was not about to share.  She bit off as much as she could, and quickly shoved the rest in her mouth.  She was a mess in the end, but very pleased with herself for eating all of it.  Mom and Dad better get their own Easter basket.
Stop back tomorrow, and see what else I have been making.  Hint: table favors                Mary Alice
