Whole Lotta Love for SAB

I know, another post today?? I have more to share.  I had a great time last evening with my friend and partner in all things fun, Debby.  We went to Archivers for an evening of stamping and scrapbooking, like we used to do all the time.  Since we have become Stampin' Up! demonstrators we hold our own workshops all the time, gather with fun friends to stamp and make cards, and find lots of inspiration form our community of fellow demos and bloggers, etc.  But, the atmosphere at Archivers on a Crop Night is always fun and enjoyable.  We used to go do this all the time, and really had fun, so we thought we'd give it a try.  It was just nice to sit in the room full of women laughing and chatting and getting creative.  We did a bunch of creating ourselves, and were inspired by things all around us.  We chatted with the ladies around us, and even snapped a couple photos of the work they were doing.  I came away with a wonderful shower invitation from one lady, and learned about making collage photos on Picasa from another.  It was a very enjoyable evening.  It was nice to be just sitting at the table creating and not instructing.  I got a chance to make several cards, and Debby and I talked about upcoming class ideas, and I came home pumped.
This is one of the cards I made last night, and I wanted to share it with a couple of challenges today, because I always take my challenges for inspiration.  At our open house I made little Smartie cards for each guest, and because more people showed up than we expected, I made up a couple more right there at the table.  I asked the gals to choose the stamp they wanted me to use from the Patterned Occasions stamp set from the Saleabration promotion.  You can get this cute set free with a qualifying purchase.  If you like it, I can tell you more how you can get it.  The cute little cup was a favorite of many, so I love making cards with this, too.  Of course, since I was away from home stamping, I did not have exactly what I wanted, and had to make due with what I brought.  I had decided on some cute little quilt printed paper from the Tea for Two DSP to coordinate with the cups, then realized I did not have the ink I wanted, so I had to change my vision for the colors to what I did have on hand.  When I finished gluing on the little blocks in Island Indigo and Calypso Coral, I proceeded to add the paper to the middle of the card.  As I flipped the quilt printed paper over to add adhesive, I commented to Debby that the polka dots on the back side were the same color and dot as the cups.  Wasn't that a coincidence?  Then, what did I do by mistake?  Flipped the paper over and added the adhesive to the quilt print!! NOOOO!!  Oh, well, I guess the decision was made and meant to be.  Polka dots on the card was meant to be.  I added the buttons to give a little interest, and am delighted with how it turned out.  I'll make another card with the quilt print another day.  Debby had her wonderful stamp set Feel Goods that I used for the inside greeting.
I love the products from Stampin' Up"s SaleABration promotion, especially the playful Patterned Occasions that I used.  Red Hot Stampers Challenge #75 had the great layout idea that I used, and Latenight Stampers Challenge 210 and SU-Only Challenge 64 both are looking for SaleABration products used on cards this week.

Enjoy the weekend, and stop back again soon to see what else I created last night.
