Apple basket for a challenge

 

This is one of the projects that I made for a recent workshop, and I just had to make some more for the craft sale next week.  I used the Petite Purse die for my Big Shot, but I cut the flap off the purse.  I ran it thru square lattice EF for the basket texture.  I gave the handle a twist around a pencil before I attached it to create a basket-type handle.  I used the blue gingham-check paper from the Orchard Harvest DSP.  Then, I made the apples form the Perfectly Preserved stampes, cut them with the Framelits, and attached them inside and outside the basket.  I used a small cello bag and put some red and green peanut m&m's, to resemble apples (with the Christmas red and green m&m's were in the stores so that I did not have to pick through the bag).  The bag was tied with a knot of red ribon and a little hemp bow.  I pick this basket as one of my favorite projects, and so fast and fun to make. 

I think I will enter this project over at Stampin' Sisters in Christ for their challenge to make a FALL PROJECT. 

I just love fall, and a trip to the apple orchard is always in order.  And, I love baking with apples, and always look forward to pulling those recipes out.  It will be really tough this year, as I am on a diet that restricts my eating any fruits, so no apples.  I can eat berries, so I better search out some new recipes. 
This weekend we went to a Fall Harvest Festival at Chateau St. Croix Winery in St. Croix Falls, WI.  It was a beautiful warm afternoon, and strolling the grounds, listening to great live Blues music, and eating a turkey leg, (I skipped the wine) was the nicest way to spend a day.  I had my baby granddaughter along who I have been teaching to dance.  She's only 8 months old, but I think she is catching on that when the music plays she is supposed to bounce and sway.  I think she keeps time to the music by beating her toy on the table to the music, too. 
I was supposed to be working hard on my craft sale projects this weekend, but I took a little time to play, and then I got a whole lot of creating done later in the day, and on Sunday.  You will have to stop back to see the fun things I have made.  I will share them with you all week.
